I believe code should be easy to read and systems should be easy to scale. In my role at Smartmile, I led the development of backend APIs that handle thousands of daily transactions across Europe.
I care about how a system actually performs, not just checking off a list of features. I’ve handled moving large, clunky apps over to smaller, manageable services so they are easier to maintain and stop breaking. By tuning PostgreSQL and adding Redis, I made our logistics platform significantly faster and more reliable.
Engineering Leadership
I lead the technical direction for backend systems at Smartmile, focusing on clean TypeScript and robust API design. I also facilitate collaboration across global time zones to keep our architecture aligned and our delivery consistent.
Infrastructure & Ops
I manage our cloud infrastructure on GCP using Docker and Cloud Run. I focus on automating CI/CD pipelines and keep our systems available around the clock.

I built DukaYaShiro to help local spare parts shops move their business online. It’s an ERP that handles everything from M-Pesa payments to inventory tracking and sales analytics. Instead of using paper ledgers, shop owners can monitor their entire business and customer history in one place.

CommitaAI is an npm package that generates commit messages directly from your staged changes. It uses AI to write clear descriptions that follow conventional commit standards, so you can focus on coding instead of writing logs.
Uzalendo - Public Participation
Uzalendo is a civic tech platform that makes complex legal documents easy to understand. It uses AI to summarize long legislative bills into simple language, letting citizens share their feedback and see what others think. It’s built to help people actually participate in the law-making process.
